The Other Side of the Lens offers various examples and contrasting approaches and definitions of portraiture but what makes this exhibit truly special is that all of the portraits in the exhibition are by artists of artists! Most of the subjects are friends, intimate colleagues, and admirers’ of the sitter.   The image of a candle flame formed by a lens is obtained on a screen placed on the other side of the lens. If the image is three times the size of the flame and the distance between lens and image is 80 cm, at what distance should the candle be placed from the lens? What is the nature of the image at a distance of 80 cm and the lens?

From the Other Side of the Lens by Joanne U ltang The life and work of Don Ultang—my father— shaped my childhood and ultimately came to be a defining force in my adult life as well. As I was growing up, our family and life seemed "normal," because 1 knew nothing else. In fact, from the vantage point of adulthood, I came to see it as an. LADY OTHER SIDE OF LENS Beverley Anne Callahan & Lawrence E. Collins “I went to a wedding on the weekend as the guest of a friend of the family several days after I moved here. The Church ceremony and reception was across the city on West Valley Drive. The bride was beautiful!” my new next-door-neighbour was saying as she pointed at the photo.

Book Boyfriend: Ethan SUMMARY (50 words or less) A story of a girl who changed her life and with that came other changes she may or may not be ready for. Interesting story with interesting characters. A lot of questions still hang at the end even though there is a HEA. Hoping for a sequel. For a/5(61). Out of thousands of images found, one hundred eighty were selected, and along with the stories of the courageous men who made them, were printed into a book “Another Vietnam: Pictures of the War from the Other Side”, published by the National Geographic.

With landscape roll-outs, celebrity biographies and captions from the photographers themselves describing the objects of their inspiration, "On the other side of the lens" is pages of original artwork from modern multimedia icons.4/5(6).

The Other Side of the Lens comprises two volumes that include hundreds of original images about the Afghan conflict. The author, OLOrtiz, has posted twenty-five photos on his website (). The gaze of a person who loves Afghanistan and its people.

More than just sniper pictures, the account of a soldier who photographed more than Author: Mr OLOrtiz. THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LENS opens up the most raw and personal feelings of a TV news reporter conflicted by the realities of sensationalized TV news and the feelings of a father tortured by his son's brutal death/10(7).

By being on the other side of the camera, I was able to gain a new perspective. My insecurities have been difficult to overcome when placed in front of a camera, but beauty, like most things, is all about perspective.

And making the simple move to the front of the lens. All have been given the chance to be on the other side of the lens and to capture the people, places and symbols that give their lives focus. The resulting images will be thought provoking and revealing, as will each of the ‘photographer’s’ accompanying words, written to 5/5(1).

(iii) Mark two foci F and F' on two sides of the lens, each at a distance of 2 cm from the lens. (iv) Draw an arrow AB of height 1 cm on the left side of lens at a distance of 5 cm from the lens.

(v) Draw a line AD, parallel to principal axis and then make it pass straight through the focus (F') on the right side of the lens. The book peels off the cover panels and lets you look into the dark side of the lens. The dozen or so formulas use simple math and the drawings alone are worth the price of admission.

Describes how. This book has some basic lens info, but my problem with it is it refers to film and using different film with lenses to get finer grain and better color for example through out the book.

Not useful to me as like most photographers there days I'm digital. If you are a film photographer you may find this book more s: 6. Ray 1 enters parallel to the axis and exits through the focal point on the opposite side, while ray 2 passes through the center of the lens without changing path.

The two rays continue to diverge on the other side of the lens, but both appear to come from a common point, locating the upright, magnified, virtual image. This is a case 2 image. A delightful picture is presented on page by Chris Sant Founier with a woman seemingly trying to waltz with a man who turns out to be a representation of Christ the King in papier-mâché form.

Women have been breaking glass ceilings for quite some time now. They have made inroads into areas once conceived as male bastions. But the picture is neither rosy nor perfect when it comes to cinema. THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LENS opens up the most raw and personal feelings of a TV news reporter conflicted by the realities of sensationalized TV news and the feelings of a father tortured by his son's brutal death.

"It is not that much fun as it seemed to me to be on the other side of the lens!" "Alexander Linkevich," says Olena, "is a nice young man who tells you stories about his wife and his life, while you are balancing on the eight cm high stilettos, smiling brightly behind a chess set.

Alexander knew nothing about chess at the beginning of the session. Assume thin-lens approximation. (Hint: Pick a point P on the given ray in each case. Treat that point as an object. Now, find its image Q.

Use the rule: All rays on the other side of the lens will either go through Q or appear to be coming from Q.). Physics/ lens question An object is placed upright on the axis of a thin convex lens at a distance of four focal lengths (4 f) from the center of the lens.

An inverted image appears at a distance of 4/3 f on the other side of the lens. Kubrick on the Other Side of the Lens; Books.

The AOA recommends therapeutic contact lenses as ophthalmic bandages following corneal trauma or refractive corneal surgery. 2 With proper patient selection, observation and management, therapeutic contact lenses provide an extremely effective therapeutic tool.

However, we must caution lens care providers that proper fit is of the utmost importance, as a “one size fits all” .A lens with two concave surfaces is biconcave (or just concave). If one of the surfaces is flat, the lens is plano-convex or plano-concave depending on the curvature of the other surface.

A lens with one convex and one concave side is convex-concave or meniscus. It is this type of lens that is most commonly used in corrective lenses.
